New Pilot Program Aimed at Cutting Probation by Half

The court system will be introducing a new program to help people on probation. This pilot program begins April 1, 2021 and will allow persons convicted of certain low-level offenses with the opportunity to reduce their period of supervision by half if they comply with the terms of their probation and pay off all claims of restitution. Unpaid court costs will result in a civil lien rather than continued supervision.

Program Requirements

Offenses eligible for the pilot program will be any misdemeanor theft-related charges, first or second possession of controlled substance offenses and paraphernalia charges.
